1995 900SS SP

This is my second Ducati. I used to have a 2003 Monster 620 Dark, and
now I have a 1995 900SS SP, number 202 out of 300 that were made that
year. If Ducati decides to make the 749 Dark in the MATTE SILVER color
(the one they used on the Monster Dark and 800SS), that will be my
next bike! :)

SBK?  NOT ME!

Since I was a true Harley Girl by heart, I never thought sport bikes were my thing.  Firstly, they looked so damn uncomfortable, second, I knew with my personality, had I rode one of course, I’d kill myself with their immense speed.  Then, one day, I had the opportunity to work for a friends Ducati Dealership, and being the true motorcycle enthusiast I am, I accepted the offer.

It only took an hour after I worked there did I become engrossed with the Ducati.  I watched the technicians in the shop and started to have a need to ride one.  It took a month or so before I asked the owner Bruce, what he thought of me taking the 999 out for a ride, knowing of course, that my main concern, coming from riding a Harley, was the foot position.  He replied “Nancey Shut up and get on it”.  I did. Well, let me just say, OH MY GOD!  I never, and I repeat NEVER felt such a rush in my entire life!  When I came back from the ride, I jumped off and gave Bruce a huge hug and thanked him!  I was absolutely thrilled with the bike!  My last thought when I got on it was my foot position, by the way, my body just naturally formed to the design.  I had to have one!  The only thing was that I didn’t get out of first gear, and I did about 80mph!  So, I asked if he though the 749 would be more fun to ride.  Bruce agreed, but he said I would be happier with a 749s.  So, the for sale sign went on the Harley and we began our search…

Welome “Faith”…  My red 2004 Ducati 749s.  Her name is what she screamed at me flying at over a 100mph on a beautifulNew Englandroad when I got her.  She and I are a team.  We became a team when I uncrated her.  What a beautiful site she was!

TRACK DAY!  Yup!  Here is where the fun begins.  I started track days in June and they became extremely additive.  The 749s wants to lean, & it wants to go, it has the need for speed!  More speed that I will probably ever experience!  It took a few track days for me to be comfortable, and I had tons of advice and instruction.  I listened, I watched, I learned.  Then *poof* one day I am leaning her over, and speeding her up through the turns and into the straights!  All I have to say is if you have never ridden the track, you won’t be able to understand the sheer adrenaline rush through your veins.  I became addicted.

So, for those of you out there who are on the fence about the Ducati, just get on one!  I did! And I never thought they were for me…

Nancey Cautillo name is Stephanie Burk and I am from NJ.
I currently just purchased my very first  Ducati M620.  Riding my motorcycle is about passion, tradition, making new friends and seeing the beauty of life in an entirely new way.
I added on a new pair of High Mount Termignoni exhaust pipes this past weekend. The bike is amazing...with outstanding features.
I will hopefully start racing next season!  Women riders are an inspiration to me.
